Today, anyone can be the victim of internet theft, scam, scam, or hack. If we stop to think, in most cases passwords are the only means of defense we have to avoid this type of intrusion.
Recently, the FBI has published a series of tips to protect our social networks, email accounts, and any other account that we have online.
The FBI claims that long passwords are much better than short ones, and recommends that they be at least 15 characters in length, combining upper and lower case. In addition, whenever possible, he advises using several words that are not related to each other.
Something that both individuals and companies do for security is to change passwords from time to time. Instead, the FBI does not advise it and states that, unless there is some kind of problem, it is preferable not to change the passwords.
Obviously, if we intend to protect our password, we should not give any clue about it. Nor should we choose words that can be associated with us, such as names of pets, friends or family, or cities.
It is not the FBI’s preferred option, but it recognizes that using a management system to store all passwords and create a new unique password can be helpful.
In addition to Gmail, which offers this option for free, there are other more professional payment alternatives on the market.
The disadvantage of this type of system is that if someone gets hold of our unique password, they will have access to all of our accounts. But it is also true that it is much easier and more comfortable to remember only one password instead of several different ones.
