Galaxy Watch 6 (Classic): What We Know So Far

Next week, Samsung plans to introduce the Galaxy Watch6 series at its Unpacked event. We have summarized the most important leaks of recent times for you. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch6 series at its Unpacked event next week. A supposedly official partner shop from Samsung already lists the watches with some specifications and thus also reveals the model variants.

The Galaxy Watch6 Series Will Include A Total Of Eight Models

The Galaxy Watch6 can be pre-ordered in the Funshop from July 27 to August 7 and ordered regularly from August 11. According to the product page in the shop, the watch will be available in eight variants. With the basic version of the Watch6, customers can choose between a diameter of 40 mm or 44 mm. The slightly larger Classic version has a diameter of 43 mm or 47 mm. For a surcharge, all models are also available with an LTE modem and an eSIM option, which makes it possible to make phone calls or send messages without a cell phone connected via Bluetooth.

Image Leaks Show Watch6 And Watch6 Classic

How important it is to Samsung to keep non-released images and data of its future devices secret is made clear by an almost completely redacted article in which WinFuture shared preview images showing the smartwatches in multiple colors and from all sides. We did catch a glimpse of a screenshot showing the Galaxy Watch6 Classic in silver and black and the base version in beige. The renders showcase the Watch6 Classic with a rotating bezel last seen on the Galaxy Watch4 Classic . Visually. The Watch6 is reminiscent of its predecessor Watch5.

At the same time, the Classic version is more reminiscent of the Watch4 due to its bezel. In the latest photo from South Korea’s Yonhap News, which Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) published on Twitter, Samsung seems to want to show off its newcomer. The former Bundesliga player Son Heung-min pictured on it, is holding the Galaxy Watch 6 on his wrist in such a representative way for the camera that the snapshots seem intentional and suggest targeted marketing by Samsung. In the pictures from July 14, 2023, the footballer is at Incheon International Airport in Seoul.

Galaxy Watch6 And Watch6 Classic Specifications Leaked So Far

The people who expected an Exynos W980 in the new System Watch age will most likely be disheartened since Samsung has proactively affirmed the less strong Exynos W930 with the Bluetooth SIG. Since the “Exynos S5E5515” model number is indistinguishable from that of the Exynos W920, which we know from the Universe Watch4 and World Watch5, this is, by all accounts, a rebranding. It would be possible that Samsung would build the clock recurrence.

According to a tweet by Ahmed Qwaider (@AhmedQwaider888), the Galaxy Watch6 (Classic) will have a slightly larger battery that, together with the Exynos W930, which is said to be manufactured using the 5 nm process, will provide up to 20 percent longer battery life. In addition, the smartwatch display should be around 20 percent larger than its predecessor’s. The tipster names 2 GB for the RAM size and 16 GB for the internal memory. Qwaider also comes up with some product images that are said to come from Samsung.

Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications

As Samsung confirms, some Galaxy smartwatches will, in the future, detect cardiac arrhythmias and thus indicate an irregular heart rate. The IHRN feature was approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) after approval was granted by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 is expected to be the first Galaxy model with this feature.

As part of the One UI 5 Watch operating system update, the feature should also be available for other wearables from Samsung. The health feature is initially to be introduced in 13 countries. However, approval in this country could follow shortly. We will learn more about the Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic at the official launch on July 26. The foldable Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 are also part of the party.
